Manchester United travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United this Sunday following a midweek 2-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. Head coach Michael Carrick confirmed a squad update on Friday as United look to end a five-game winless streak.

Noussair Mazraoui is set to return to the matchday group after returning to team training. Carrick said: "He’s done a little bit of training, so he’ll be back around the group, which is a good step in the right direction for us." The head coach added that Mazraoui is "a lot happier" to be back with the squad.

Lisandro Martinez is included in the squad, though the Evening Standard reports the defender held a meeting with Carrick and Omar Berrada this week. In central defence, Matthijs de Ligt is available for selection despite not featuring in a match for nearly 12 months.

Injury concerns persist for several first-team players. Marcus Rashford has an unspecified physical issue, while Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo remain under assessment. Carrick stated: "We will see about Luke and Kobbie."

Benjamin Sesko remains sidelined with a shin injury that has affected him since the end of last season. Carrick confirmed that the forward requires further medical checks and is "still a little bit further away."
